Home Mortgage Disclosure Act

The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act requires institutions to report loan data by lending transacted and acquired each year. This includes geographic distribution of loans and applications; ethnicity, race, sex, and income of applicants and borrowers; and information about loan approvals and denials. This data is reported to the institution’s primary regulator on an annual basis for loans and applications of the previous calendar year.
